Lesson:  Genesis 18:20-32
Message: The REAL Sin of Inhospitality

This Sunday I’m seizing the opportunity of Genesis 18 showing up in the lectionary to debunk some of the presumptions about the Sodom and Gomorrah story. We’ll look into why, for centuries, this story has been the anti same-sex relationship crowd’s go-to scripture and how this interpretation is so very wrong. Then we’ll consider what the REAL sin of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah was and how we can hold this lesson up to ourselves as people of the Christ.  Knowing what the bible says when so many are preaching it wrong is essential to our call as disciples, so I hope you’ll join us this Sunday for both a lesson in hospitality and talking points in our shared efforts towards LGBTQ equity.
