New England UMC Mission Trip to United Methodist Economic Ministries (UMEM) Strong, Maine Are you interested in helping with a NE UMC ministry to repair and improve low-income housing in rural Maine? UMEM hosts church mission teams all summer who go into the community and do just that. Many of our churches cannot host an entire mission team so the Conference is organizing mission trips where you can join others from New England and work together to help people in need. Can’t join for an entire week? These trips are designed so that people can come for a couple of days. UMEM has a bunk house for 20 people, hook-ups if you have your own camper, and space for tents. Boston Area Gleaners rescues surplus crops for donation to food pantries. What is better than apple picking for a good cause on a crisp fall morning?! We will run car pools from UPA.
