The Psalms model the diversity of prayer. Sometimes they praise, other times; lament; sometimes they are grateful; other times bogged down with sorrow. Let your reading of the Psalms inspire your own prayer practice with complete honesty and vulnerability before God.
Note: Some Psalms are short; others are quite long! Feel free to choose to read only what feels doable. Let the practice be life-giving and inspiring rather than bogged down with “shoulds” or a sense of obligation. Open your heart in the practice to feeling your feelings, while opening to God and to divine inspiration. Read one Psalm a day if you can. If not, accept with joy whatever you can read that your schedule allows.
