Blessings and grace to you all.
Welcome to Summer! I love the summer. I love the warm- even HOT – weather, beach time (or “Shore” as the Jersey Girls like to say), working in my garden, and dining al fresco at my husband and my favorite restaurant. More than all of this, however, is that I LOVE the slower pace and the grace that we offer each other to miss emails, take our time making decisions, and spend time with just ourselves or our family. It’s like an extended “Sabbath” for the entire region.
Sabbath is about rest and what happens to our hearts when we take time to do that rest. It’s about renewing our spirit – which, in turn, renews our creative energies which, in turn, renews our hope. And, goodness, could we use some hope right now! So, if you’re going away for the summer or even for a part of this summer: blessings of peace and joy and rest and renewed energy, creativity, and hope! Take your time loving on your family and friends and soak up that sun (of course with the proper SPF protection!) We’ll see you in September!
This Sunday Matt will be preaching words of hope and encouragement to us all.
