Message: 1 Corinthians 12: 1, 4-11
Scriptures: Truth and Love
This weekend is both the nation’s annual memorial of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Inauguration Day. While some might consider the two carrying very different messages and meanings, I believe that they can both hold deep hope for the future of this country if we let them. While many of us here at UPA are concerned about the new president’s proposed policies and outspoken positions on several social issues, Rev. Dr. King reminds us that “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.”
And so we hold out hope that what is to come is still not yet seen and we remember the hope that Rev. Dr. King held in the midst of so much darkness. This Sunday Matt will be preaching a message of hope to this end and so I hope you will join us as we collect ourselves in the light!
See you then!
Peace,
Cheryl
