February 9 Worship

Scriptures:  Luke 5:1-11
Message:  People Fishers

I just need to say that I don’t fish. I’ve tried it and I never catch anything so it’s literally just me sitting in a boat wondering why everyone is catching fish and I’m just sitting in a boat. HOWEVER, my son, Ethan, is blessed with the fishing skill set. From the time that he was little he has always been lucky with the catch. I remember a summer when we didn’t bring his rod to the shore and so my dad made him one out of a stick and some fishing line. Wouldn’t you know, this kid was pulling fish out of the bay one after another while the adults with their fancy rods caught nothing (but absolutely loved helping Ethan everytime he got one.)

All of this is to say that we have a beautiful scripture this Sunday about evangelism and the formula of divine grace told through a fish tale and I think you all should come to church and hear me NOT talk about how great I am at fishing!

See you Sunday!
Peace,
Cheryl
