Message: The Light of the World
On Sunday afternoon we as members of the United Parish of Auburndale will vote to approve a resolution that as Christian people of faith confirms our commitment to supporting and prioritizing democracy for this country. Titled “Democracy as Our Priority: A Resolution,” this statement and declaration makes the clear and unquestionable connection between our scripture and the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the value of democracy that this country was built to live into and represent for the world.
Maybe you are wondering how politics could so unapologetically make its way into our Sunday Worship? This Sunday, led by our Holy Word, I hope to clarify where and how we are instructed by our Divine Creator to live our lives for the sake of justice towards peace and freedom for ALL of God’s Creation. In times such as this we need to be clear on how our faith is directing our actions and life choices.
