November 2 Worship

This Week at UPA

November 2 Worship

Scripture: Luke 19:1-10
Message: The Power of Connection

THIS SUNDAY YOU GET TO BRING YOUR BELOVED PETS TO CHURCH!!

On Sunday in honor of St. Francis of Assisi we’ll be honoring the beloved non-human members of our families with a blessing of love and grace. Which means (as stated LOUDLY above) we get to worship with our animal buddies.  I’ll leave it to you to judge whether your pet can handle being in worship with other pets and people but please know they are welcome to come including their occasional barks, loud and sleepy sighs, favorite lovies and even a slice of lettuce. Dogs and cats, turtles, bunnies, hamsters, snakes, and even fish are absolutely welcome to sit beside you in your pew and be blessed as a part of God’s beloved creation!

Matt and I will be preaching a combined reflection on what it is to be seen despite the world’s presumptions and stereotypes and how just that little bit of grace can be transformative!

Additionally, after church there are 2 things going on! First, our 3 final Transformative Grant candidates will offer presentations of their programs so we can decide who will this year’s recipient of UPA’s Transformational grant! Second, parents of children and youth will gather in the Youth Room (downstairs) to meet Elle and hear more about the children’s and youth programs planned for this year at UPA!

Looking forward…
Sunday, November 9 – Stewardship testimony!
Sunday, November 16 – Stewardship testimony!
Sunday, November 23 – Blessing of the pledges and Thanksgiving Sunday!

HOW IS IT ALREADY NOVEMBER?!
See you on Sunday!
Peace,
Cheryl
