Dear UPA families and friends,
Peace to you! We are excited for another year of faith formation here at UPA! This Sunday, we are very excited to welcome our new Children’s Faith Formation Specialist, Elle Wilson! Elle has extensive experience in children’s ministry, and we are excited to welcome her to the UPA community. Please join us in welcoming her this Sunday September 7th!
Elle will be leading, and I will be assisting in this weekend’s return to Sunday school on the theme: “Who am I? Who are you? Who are we?” September 14, 2025 I will be away, leading a youth/children’s fun outing whitewater rafting! And September 21, 2025, by popular demand, we welcome back Matt Meyer for an intergenerational service!
This year, we are continuing to share monthly faith practices that you can share as a family, and that are age-appropriate for children. I invite you to try out this simple practice below: Marking the Days God Has Given.

Marking the Days God Has Given
Much like writing in a daily journal or marking off the days on a calendar, this tradition says, simply, “Another day has come and gone.” As the days go by, the stars on the board become more numerous, and a simple piece of art is created. It’s powerful to look at the board after a few months of this tradition.
Materials: Piece of poster board, small star stickers
How to: Every evening, just before bed, walk to the poster board, choose a star sticker, and place it on the poster board. Say, “Thank you, God, for another day. Amen.”
