Scripture: Luke 10:25-37
Message: To Show Mercy
And so it is Lent – a time for us to strip ourselves of the layers of culture and society’s expectations and presumptions seeking to know the child that is divinely made and utterly beloved by our Ultimate Creator. Maybe you think you know yourself pretty well and maybe don’t need this deliberate self reflection. You might not, but there are different “yous” – you that is personal and individual and “you” that is communal. We are all a part of something bigger than ourselves and, one look at politics will tell you that we have come a long way from the Garden of Eden.
I pray that you will join us tonight at Eliot Church in Newton Corner for confession and prayer, a first step to remembering how very beloved we are to God. And then join us on Sunday for worship where we will take our first dive into the question, “Who is our neighbor?” through the lens of the greatest commandment.
Because every self discovery journey must begin with love.
See you Sunday!
Peace,
Cheryl
