Lesson: Romans 8:22-27
This Sunday I’m so thrilled to welcome Demie Stathoplos, a member of our neighbor church, First Unitarian Universalist Society of West Newton, into the pulpit to talk about our faith-founded response to climate change and how we can help the City of Newton achieve their goal to decrease our carbon footprint.
Demie is a Climate activist locally and nationally, working with the likes of Jim Antal and Bill McKibbens to help inform our local communities on the urgency of this issue.
Indeed our Creator relies on all of creation to work together in balance and mutual care for the sake of life. How can we do better? How can we represent our faith in the choices we make regarding fuel, energy, and waste? What is at stake? And how do we offer the grace that is our knowledge and prioritizing the needs of all of creation and this earth to our neighbors and greater community?
We’ll wonder about this and more with Demie this Sunday.
